Easy Pickin’s
BABACO locks cannot be compromised by simple means because we stay light years ahead of the usual lock-defeating tactics. Lock shimming and bumping instructions are all over the Internet. They show how, in seconds, the usual padlocks, door locks, and combination locks can be rendered useless. We base our reputation on the fact that BABACO locks, with their proprietary restricted keys, cannot be picked, cut, bumped, shimmed, drilled, or easily destroyed.
- It is impossible to duplicate our keys at a hardware store. You can only obtain them from BABACO.
- It is impossible to shim or bump our locks.
Lock Bumping: What is it?
Lock bumping is a lock picking technique using a specially-designed bump key. One bump key will work for all locks of the same type. The teeth of the bump key jiggle all of the pins in the lock. BABACO locks cannot be defeated with bump keys.
Lock Shimming, What is it?
Shims are pieces of thin, stiff metal designed to take advantage of mechanical imperfections of typical padlocks. Unlike bump keys, padlock shims are bypass tools, not a pick. BABACO Pad-Loks cannot be shimmed.
